Those new experimental rendering improvements... Text is now surrounded by some sort of dirty irregular halo or shadow and images seem to be degraded everywhere, also with pixel patches and spots. There are also patches of pink in random spaces ( where it should be a uniform color, usually white ). Pretty awful, not sure what the improvements are. LG and SONY devices, all running 4.4.2. Previous Beta and normal version don't do this.

Hi nonoaki. There are actually several changes, one of them being texture compression which saves a lot of memory. It sounds like you're experiencing some device specific glitch with regards to that. Could you please let us know exactly the make and model of your device, and a good URL where you see these issues?

SONY Xperia Z, ZR, and Ultra. LG 4X and LG G2, also just tested on a borrowed Samsung Note 3. All running KitKat. All web sites have this problem, text is readable but looks awful with that halo/shadow, images are just wrong, all ful of spots and blurry in part. I also tested latest Chrome Beta and that's fine, like Opera normal version, or the previous beta.

The browser still removes tabs from memory if I have more than two or three.
I've asked it before, I'll ask it again: Why does this happen? Opera Mobile 12 certainly didn't and doesn't. I've had thirty odd tabs open before in Opera Mobile 12 with no problem. Chome, based on the same web engine, doesn't.
So why does Opera do this?

firnagzen, Opera 12 uses the Presto engine, that might be it... I know on the desktop versions 'old Opera' can handle 10 TIMES the pages Chrome can. I see no point in running a chrome shell, so once enough pages stop working with Presto engine, I'll say goodbye to opera for good(user since the 90's).
