I just installed the latest version of Opera and I like how it's fast and clean. Haven't yet figured out how 'native ad blocking' works but I'm using the UBlock extension, good enough.

But it's just too impractical to convert from Chrome; it's a major pain trying to import all my saved bookmarks.

I imported my bookmarks from Chrome but they only appear in the sidebar menu. It takes a number of clicks to get to it. I would love if they just appeared in the main toolbar just like they were in Chrome.

Failing that, it would be nice to be able to drag a folder from the imported bookmarks onto the main toolbar. But no, can't do that either.

Lastly, I tried manually recreating a folder, then selecting all items from the corresponding Imported bookmarks folder and dragging/dropping. Sadly only the first bookmark made it into the folder.

So I tried dragging them one at a time. As I did each drop, the option to rename the link appeared. It did not use the name of the link stored in Imported Bookmarks; it had the URL as the name, so I would have had to retype each one.

This is the deal breaker for me. This is what will keep people from migrating from their browsers.

Suggestion: When people import bookmarks from another browser, put them in the same place, on the shortcut toolbar. Retain folder and link names. It should be a no brainer.

Ad blocking feature is in Opera developer only. Stable and beta don't have it

not sure what's wrong, but drag and drop works fine on my machine

Mr Bimplebean, did you try adding them as a folder to your speed dial?
