Not all images load

While on the site Lifehacker, Gawker, etc, not all the images will load. The larger images and those displaying video feeds are fine. But, smaller thumbnails display with just the wording "Image". The settings are set to show images. Also, deleted cache, re-installed and still no images. Any ideas?
