A rational way to organize bookmarks in Opera 12.18?

Hi Everybody,
I was surprised to hear Opera had released a new version in the 12.xx branch, so I downloaded and installed it on my Windows 10 PC, after several years of using Firefox.
I'm glad to be back on Opera, and to use Presto again, but I now have a major gripe: the way bookmarks are organized...
In Firefox, when you add bookmarks to your personal bar, then export your favorites, most modern browsers will detect the bookmarks that were in your personal bar in Firefox, and display them in their own personal bar.
That's the way it goes with browsers such as Maxthon, Chrome, etc...
Not so in Opera 12.18, where you have to do that kind of thing manually, and that's where the problems start...
Even if I manually select the bookmarks I want to appear in my personal bar, right-click on them and choose "Show on personal bar", the way they end up to be organize is completely absurd: they end up in counter alphabetical order, or just without any order at all, when in Firefox, they were set in a "most-often visited" order.
Is there a way to import Firefox bookmarks that will be naturally (as in, no need to organize them manually) displayed in my personal bar?
Also, how come when I delete all bookmarks via "Manage All Bookmarks", they are still in my personal bar? If I deleted them, they should be gone, right?
I really want to go back to Opera 12.xx (I don't like the Blink-based versions), but this is one big show-stopper for me...

Have you tried to delete these bookmarks from the Trash Can in Bookmarks Manager?

Opera stores bookmarks in the bookmarks.adr file. There are parameters in this file which defines the order of bookmarks and bookmarks folders, show on personal bar flag (or not to show) , creation and last visited time stamps etc.
The two ways to solve your issue:
-
A special utility that can convert *.html bookmarks file (exported from Firefox) to Opera's *.adr format (e.g. import.adr), then merge this adr-file (containing exported FF's hotlist) with the existing bookmarks.adr
-
Try to use an intended third-party Bookmarks Managers. For an example, LinkStash ( http://www.xrayz.co.uk/linkstash/ ). I've not tried it. But what i know this comes with the support of Opera/Presto and Firefox.

Also, keep in mind that Opera 12 doesn't support the newer Mozilla's bookmarks format, which a new Firefox versions (e.g. version 44.0) using. I guess that Opera 12 supports only Firefox 4.0 (and bellow) bookmarks. This can cause your issues with bookmarks import via standard Opera's bookmarks manager, since the format change is more likely related to an exported bookmarks file format(from a latest Firefox version) too.
The problem with bookmarks compatibility between old and new FF was discussed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1004938

The way Opera handles bookmarks is a deal breaker for me.
Well, you are talking about a version of Opera that hasn't seen a substantive update since 2012.
