How long is history saved on Opera? Does it get removed without permission like on Chrome? Are there controls to history settings?

I double this question.
The 3 months limitation was basically the only thing making me move from Chrome to something else, and since Opera uses the same engine, I am really concerned if it's also affected by this limitation.
Maybe someone could check their history, and also check if entries older then 3 months (if any) can be found by typing in the address bar the same way as newer ones can?
