extensions gone after update

when i updated to 20, all my extensions disappeared. this did not occur with other updates (or, not that i remember?). this time, though, i added some from chrome store (but both opera and chrome's disappeared). perhaps that was the reason? interestingly enough, under extensions, 2 "migrated" ones were not deleted - these 2 were disabled. all the enabled ones are gone.

ok, figured it out. wasn't the update. i used ccleaner and am unfamiliar with newer opera. if you select "internet history" it will erase all add-ons and extensions.

Were you using the latest version of CCleaner?
no, there is a newer one (i use the portable, so i lag behind on updates). unfortunately, i tried ccleaner again today(which worked yesterday without deleting extensions with internet history omitted), and my extensions are gone again. pooh. its weird though, the extension preferences are not gone, when i redownload the extensions, they have their original preferences (ex. lastpass still is configured with my email and password, and adblocker plus still has my extra subscriptions). but some of operas preferences also disappear. in the speed dial, i use the smaller icons with 8 viewed instead of 6: these revert to defaults - but the sites are not erased.
i will update ccleaner and see if it helps. is there a way to backup operas settings and extensions for easier reinstall? i used to use favbackup for browsers, but its not developed anymore. firefox and chrome have a sync feature (i know chromes works good and will replace all extensions etc - i've never tried firefoxes). or perhaps an extension to back things up would be nice?
as a work around, i've tried the history eraser extension, and it works well. though its funny that it has similar preferences as ccleaner and it doesn't do any damage.

Yes, open Opera menu -> About.You can backup the whole Profile folder.
