When I run Opera, I typically open quite a few tabs. I close most of them before exiting. When I reopen, occasionally one of the closed tabs reopens. I've not been able to reliably reproduce this behavior but it happens frequently. I'm not sure if it's the last tab I closed. The closed tab usually doesn't have focus.

I'm running Opera v31.0.1889.174, under Ubuntu 14.04LTS. I have "Continue where I left off" under Startup.

Has anyone else observed this behavior, and if so, cured it?

The last stable version is v32, update and check it again. I am using developer edition and it works as expected.

Now it says my flash plugin is out of date. I tried replacing the existing libflashplayer.so with the newest the "Upgrade" link sent me to, but no joy. I tried downloading the rpm, converting to a deb and installing, but it said the package was bad. This is ridiculous.

I can confirm that even on windows. It still happens in Opera 38.
You have to delete last session, the file to delete is "Last Session" in your profile folder (I don't know the path on Linux), but on windows it's located at:

            C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable

This particular bug is preventing me from releasing TreeStyleTabs extension on which I'm working on.

I don't know the path on Linux

For you who don't know, the path is

              ~/.config/opera

(Where ~ is you home folder)
