      hello,

I am a happy user of Opera Mail for Apple. I want to export/archive emails but I don't know how. I have read the help-pages but I can only manage to archive/export one message at a time instead of a 20 or 50 messages in one time. How can I do this. Thank you!

      marten

Also, to archive a message, you need to export/save it, import the saved file into a new account (or existing archive account) and then delete the original. There's no way to really do it better.

However, you can just create a label like "account1_archive" and drag messages to it. Then, if you right-click the label, goto properties and set "hide these messages from other views", the messages in that label will be hidden from other views and out of the way. But, they'd still be accessible via the label.

You need to put the messages in a label (at least temporarily) and export the label. See https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/wiki/m2tips/export_messages for more info.

That will put all of the messages in the label into a single mbox file.

The save / ctrl + s function in Opera unfortunately doesn't work on a message list selection to save each message in the selection to its own mbox file. But, if you really need that, you can look for mbox file splitters on the net to split the file produces when you export a label.

@burnout426 thanks for your reaction but maybe I am doing something wrong. I have made a label and 15 messages appear in the collumn next to the collumn with the label-names, inbox from the email account etc. When I right-click (secondary-click) with the mousepointer on the label-name in the left-collumn I get a dropdown menu with the Export option. I click on and a mbs-file is made/saved. Then I click on Archive (top-menu bar) and open the mbs-file. Only the first message of the labeled messages in de mbs-file instead of all of them. Same happens if select all messages with shift-click.

Open the mbs file in a text editor. Do you see all the messages then?

While Opera supports exporting to an mbs file, it doesn't fully support opening them. Instead, you have to goto "Menu -> settings -> import and export -> import mail -> import generic mbox -> add mbox and import into a new account to get all the messages.

Ok; you are right. I have tested it with a new label with three different from-rules so three different messages. Exported the label and opened the mbs-files and indeed, three messages are in there. Thank you...
