I've been using Opera (with turbo on) for sometime now to open reddit on my rooted android phone. I have to use Opera because reddit is blocked in my country and I think it's just troublesome to use another VPN app. At first, I can open reddit. But now it says this webpage is not available every time I try to open reddit, it's weird. I can can still open other blocked websites, though. I already tried to force close, uninstall-install, restart my phone, and the problem still persist. I'm using the latest Opera (version 32.0.1953.96473).
Is there anyone experiencing the same problem? Any solution to this? I don't want to try installing another browser because Opera is one of the best out there.
TIA.

Something like this is happening to me too. I have MIUI with stock browser, firefox browser, Chrome and Opera. As a web developer I have devel server with certificate accessible from the outside world. The problem is I can access projects from all browsers like this: https://projectname.devel.domain.tld.. All browsers BUT opera. I've never used Opera Data savings (opera turbo or what it is called) but it looks like the traffic still is routed via opera servers and that's why I am not able to connect to my secured server. Why? The setting in the app has Data savings OFF. Thanks for any help

@speedmcglory It will come around. Technically the real (local) IP could be as rmnet for a solid VPN tun0 or ccmni when local proxy is detected but since your device is rooted you must change the DNS (US local maybe) to avoid the latter. So the problem is before proxy when actually you have a double connection with the same host because Opera will use their own DNS resolvers and servers from at least 3 locations and in this case the same rules apply. For example with Open DNS its possible that one location is on the whole device and another one for Opera proxy.

Your device is just trying to save you from going to Reddit! It's not a bug, it's a feature! :jester:
