      Hello,
I've installed some new fonts recently and after that I noticed that it affected some websites - their default font changed to one of those I installed.
can someone help me how can I restore defaults?
I tried reinstalling opera but it didn't help.

      thanks in advance.

        What's your version?

Did you 'only' install the fonts or also change the fonts settings in the browser?
If the latter, your settings sustain unless you uninstall the browser before reinstalling. An "upon" "reinstall" must keep your profile folder intact.

I have the latest version and yes of course I uninstalled it before reinstalling.
I just installed fonts, to use them in editors where you normally work with type; didn't want, wasn't expecting it and didn't set anything to change in my browser. I honestly can't even understand how it can affect browser. I couldn't even find any settings in opera to change fonts (found font size but not actual font). and it only affects certain pages, not like the whole text on the internet is now shown in that one font.
so, well, still don't know what to do : /

oh and I don't really know what you mean by this sentence "An "upon" "reinstall" must keep your profile folder intact." too many quotation marks, I'm confused 😃

                I know what happened.

If "some sites/pages" - right? then it's simple.
HTML font settings (for pages that your browsers render) are coded (usually) so that there are more than one font listed (plus a font family) - in case one or more can't be found on your system or rendered by your browser.
So some such sites (pages) had (have) the first item in such fonts lists that could not be previously met on your system due to the absense of those fonts. Now that you installed them on your system - they CAN.
Kinda simple. You might consider taking a peer into those pages' codes yourself if you wish.

So the answer is - having those fonts installed you are gonna HAVE those pages/site using it (for it's in their code).
                That's that.

                Add-on - reference:

The font-family property should hold several font names as a "fallback" system. If the browser does not support the first font, it tries the next font.

hmm okay I get it, thanks. can you tell me how I can find font used in a particular page in html code? I tried ctrl+f "font" but didn't work.

and can you explain why it changed fonts in chrome and opera but not in ms edge?

                    "View page source" first.
Then it's usually somewhere in the head section, within the style element: see the reference I gave you. You might use Ctrl^F there as well, I believe... (There's possible a shorthand property to be used as well: just "font".)
There are two more possibilities, however: 1) they might use inline styling - then it's within the elements' attributes ("style=blah-bla"), 2) or they might perfectly use external stylesheets - that's when you won't be able to see the exact styles in the page code itself.

yeah I found it. the font family is called Open Sans which is a group of very nice fonts - the problem was I hadn't had the basic set of these fonts and installed Condensed version - and this really isn't a font you want on a whole page full of text. so I installed all Open Sans fonts and now it works as it was intended and it also looks good.

thanks for your help, you really made me understand what happened and solve it!
                      have a nice day ^^

You're welcome and thank you for your appreciation*:)*

Shall we close the thread now?
1, it doesn't actually have much with the Opera browser per se, and 2, the problem's solved, right?🙂

To quote something (inline) already having quotation marks in it, you might, say, either use italicising or monospacing*:)*

O'k, see you in the Lounge, right?😉

yeah of course it can be closed. I initially thought that it was opera problem, I noticed later that it affected other browsers too. I posted this in two windows 10 forums and no one helped me at all there so..it's good I posted it here as well 😃
