      Hi,

I know there's been similar threads before, however they were deleted due to the My Opera shutdown.

I am using Opera Mail with Windows 7 and cannot find the way to set Opera Mail as a default email client for windows. It is very troublesome, because I cannot use "send email" option in many programs, I got notification "default email client not set". And Opera Mail is not present in "default programs" list on Windows 7.

      Any solutions to that?

Why don't Opera mail does not have its own subforum?

Because it's not a supported product any more is my guess.

I don't recall they stated that. I guess that tell us to move away from standalone Opera Mail client.

Well, it is based on the old Presto engine which is not supported any more, it's basically M2 ripped out from Classic Opera. So shouldn't expect any features or updates to it, unless they bring out a version based on Blink, which I very much doubt will happen.

But whether it's being updated or not, it still exists, and the OP's question remains. I use a different stand-alone eMail client than Opera, but the answer to setting Opera Mail to default lies here (see the instruction #5 therein):

The archive of the web page that shows you what to do and the two reg files that it references are here.

(for other archives, I'll probably upload them as needed. I might eventually end up rewriting them all and putting them somewhere else. Not sure yet.)

In my other browsers Opera Mail is the default email client, not in my newest Opera. And I do not want to mess with the reg, make me a update ASAP

That's a bit rude, there's no need to demand.
