  • For a little less than a week now, whenever I've been watching YouTube videos on my browser, I keep having issues with the video lagging every couple of minutes while the audio keeps playing normally. This problem does not occur on any other website that uses Flash for video playback, such as Facebook. I have been trying many techniques to help with the problem (uninstalling and reinstalling Flash, disabling hardware acceleration, updating video card drivers), but so far, none of these fixes have completely stopped the problem. I am also using the most up to date version of the browser (Opera 31.0).

I also want to note that, for YouTube, I've been using the Magic Actions extension so that I can pre-buffer my videos so that I can watch them without worrying about video buffering. I realize that YouTube has changed the format for its video player lately, with the more control panel-like design, but Magic Actions still uses the older black bar format for the player when I force it to load the videos in Flash.

With all of that said, can anyone help me to take care of this problem? I would greatly appreciate any help that I get to help me resolve this issue.

  • Magic Actions is pretty broken right now in Opera. Try disabling that extension and see if that helps.

  • Been reported. Off your Magic and see if it works.
By the way, it's not Flash any more on YouTube - that's why.
