Include options for speed dial to be reverted to previous builds (opera 29/30) and toggle autoupdate

I very much preferred the Opera 29/30 builds speed dial as it was clean and unobtrusive. In Opera 30, the 'White Flags' where the titles of the speed dial icon were displayed were toggleable through this link: opera://flags/#experimental-start-page. Many people, including myself, (see:https://forums.opera.com/category/11/opera-for-windows) preferred the older speed dial and at the very least, would like an option to revert the speed dial to its former state.

I propose a series of check boxes/ drop down boxes in the settings menu/individual speed dial icon sub-menu, which would be: a) flag colour black/white/transparent. b)Thumbnail icon: Website name/screenshot/upload your own. c) when to autoupdate thumbnail icon: never(manual)/on startup/every X minutes/hours.

Secondly a must have setting-which I cannot currently find in opera 30/31- in ANY AND ALL browsers should be 'when to update: Automatically/ notify when an update is ready/ never'. This is an essential part to any browser and I am surprised that it isn't already implemented.

Opera is/was loved due to its customisability specifically of the speed dial.The Speed Dial is one of, if not THE main Unique selling point of Opera. Don't make Opera become another Chrome clone like so many browsers are becoming nowadays, stick to your roots and maintain that customisability.

I look forward to a response from the developers (if any/if they even see this) about this suggestion

I am not a developer, but I might be able to help a little.

Disable auto updates: Find the shortcut for Opera. In properties and in the target add a space after the ending quote and add ––disable–update

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\launcher.exe" --disable-update

Auto update is now turned off. You can confirm this in the opera:about page. Now you can update Opera when you want, but you will have to install the updates manually or just turn off auto update.

There are some improvements coming to Speed Dial. You can keep up with the changes with by keeping up with the developer blogs http://blogs.opera.com/desktop/ Some of the tentative improvements include greater control over the thumbnail images and a few more options for the heart icon.

Opera has no intention of becoming a "Chrome clone" but a couple years ago Opera had to make the difficult decision to either adopt the Chromium engine and rebuild Opera from the ground up or basically die. Opera is bringing back many of the customization options that were available in Opera Legacy or else something better.

I do like the improvements made to Speed Dial. Yes, there are a few bugs and areas for improvement, but I also know that these bugs and improvements are being worked on and will be seen when they are ready.

and then being stipped out or even removed again...

and thats where Opera should get focused, but they don't, or at least that's how it seems...
You used to be able to do anything with opera regardnig customization, make it to your absolut personal needs...
