I was searching how to that by myself and found no solution apart from grabbing page canvas and saving that, but tab must be activated to do it, so it's useless.
And then I stumbled on your post here. So yeah I wan't that too.
Is there any chance to have it implemented in some future?Oh, and one more I asked Zielinski already, multimedia icon on tabs favicons for audio playing tabs.
It's already implemented in chromium 46, so I hope for it soon. :cheers: -

yea, there is no proper way to grab background (never active) tabs screenshot. We need access to already implemented tab previews
