    browser just working, exept sync

  • Is frustrating, i love opera but my android not sync with pc, i use stable versions on both. So in 8 month no solution?

  • Sync dont work. Opera has import bookmarks, but dont import speed dials (i use a lot more speed dials than bookmarks so that is a problem for me)
    P. S. Sorry for my weak english.

Bookmarks manager > Other Speed Dials.

  • Great thanks to you leocg. It works 🙂

  • This helped me in Opera 36:

When saving a bookmark or speed dial, be sure to choose where it will be saved. I click on the heart to the right of the web address and it gives me options for an icon (left and right arrows) and a drop-down menu with options for where to store the item. I now keep all bookmarks in Unsorted Bookmarks and they show up on any computer or device I have.

The Speed Dial items seem to be specific to each device. However, if you want to make them all the same, you can copy and paste them (even drag with your mouse to highlight them). On my two computers, I ensured that one of them had all the speed dials I like, deleted the speed dials on the other computer, and copied the speed dials from the first computer to the second. This only took a couple of minutes.

airforce25228 asked about settings and themes. I don't use themes but my settings seem to sync across all devices - not a problem for me.

    For the Opera developers:

For a long time I didn't realize that these options were present because I tend to just click the heart and move on (yes, I wasn't paying attention). So Opera was storing the items in different places depending on which computer or device I was using, and when expecting to find the speed dial on a different synced device, I was disappointed to see it was not there. How about giving us a folder (like Unsorted Bookmarks) that holds the speed dials that we want synced on all devices? I would use it for the common speed dials (Wikipedia) and then use the device-specific folders to add speed dials that only make sense on my work (colleague's web page) or home (movie listings) computers.

  • With Opera v37:
Main Menu -> Speed Dial -> Bookmarks tab opens -> Other Speed Dials

Open the last one and there is a folder with the name of the remote computer that's exporting its Speed Dials over the sync connection. I expect there would be more than one line, if one is syncing multiple devices.

Keep checking the sync connection. For some reason it dropped, and then I was wondering why test folders on one device weren't appearing on the other. Connection re-established, function resumes.

It's all working, otherwise, as kelleric9 writes above. Yes, there is a learning curve, but after that it gets better.

After following this thread, I feel most fortunate to have started with v37 ...

  • i can't believe after all these years we still cannot remove old devices. it's quite pathetic. i have phones that were 2 phones ago on there as well as old pcs showing up in tabs.
