Today I find that 2 features have changed in my Opera version 30.0.1835.59
-
The address window is no longer actives therefore it doesn't show the website address or allow me to type into it.

The icon at the top of the screen that allows me to save a website as a speed dial home page icon is gone.

Sounds like you have a damaged install. I've completely remove Opera and reinstall it using a download from the official site and see if that fixes it.

Will removing and reinstalling as suggested cause me to lose existing speed dial favorites ?

If you do a thorough uninstall, yes. I'd recommend turning on Opera Sync or at the very least saving copies of the appropriate files from your profile folder before uninstalling.

I did a complete uninstall, downloaded and installed a new Opera - The problems are still present.

Can you post a screenshot of the issue? Just host it on an image hosting website and post a link here.

The problems with Opera appears to have been corrected by restoring the computer to an earlier time then downloading a fresh Opera therefore I will call this issue resolved.
I believe the situation was created by my efforts to remove a re-direct malware that had attached itself to my Interenet Explorer.
Thanks much for your interest in solving my problem lando.
