the sign in problem was not solve yet, new Opera mini is a good browser, but still has big problem makes it to be a rubbish.

I have some delay to access HTTPS site if I'm logged in with Chrome Browser, on the other hand I can access HTTPS site prior signing process with Opera 37 for Android.

Same problem. XioaMi 5, Logging in from China. Every time, on Opera Mini and Regular Browser, can't log in on android.

Something blocking cookies, perhaps? Some Android "privacy" programs can do that.I have the same problem Opera version 37.0.2192.105088

Have you tested renaming "com.opera.app" (or something like this) folder, Opera and try to login?
Root explorer may needed. (ES File Explorer) ?

Same problem for long time (maybe 1 year already), for every time I downloaded the app update, I always check whether it can synchronize the browser data or not, but each time, it disappointed me.

And if cannot synchronize, I will only use it for very very few occasions, almost won't use it.

Sign in fails in Opera for android: "Temporary server error..."
On the same Opera browser, I can browse to opera.com and sign in in the webpage.

So far 2 years without a fix, likely no fix will ever be available, but one can never lose hope,

It's late August 2017 and I haven't seen anyone from Opera support addressing this issue. WHAT THE FUCK?! If it's not resolved quickly and stuff cannot be synced between PCs / phones then I don't see a reason in using Opera altogether, I'm running low on patience.

I just had this happen, latest Opera on Android 7.1.1. I tried creating a new account, and that got the same error.

I got this problem after doing a factory reset on my phone and reinstalling the apps. Forced me to change my password. did that and now I can sign in to Opera PC but get a temporary server error when trying to sign in on Opera mobile. Interestingly I can sign in on Opera mobile Beta

So I just tried to test the sync feature on a number of devices.
I have tried Both my Wi-Fi Access points and my cellular network on the G2.
The error message I receive when I try to log in or create an account on an android device is the one previously mentioned: "Temporary server error. Please try again later."
I'm in Sweden.

I seam to have better luck with Opera mini(28.0.2254.119213).
The sync feature seams to work on Opera mini with the LG G2 and Galaxy Tab S at least.
Minis sync didn't work with the Galaxy Tab. I have not tried the other devices yet.

WTF, can't believe it's the end of August 2017 and still no answer because they can't find the problem?
Hey Opera staff, we're here, our problem is that we can't sign in to our opera on our Android devices, is it so hard to see the problem? Take a phone or 100 of them and try to sign in with different accounts, it's not that hard!
Seems like after every update Opera looses one by one the functions that I like since November last year. It's not stable anymore when I open 100 tabs from the bookmarks, on android, youtube doesn't run on background anymore, crashes every now and then on both devices, freezes.
Dudes, bring back the last year opera and stop there, don't update until Opera doesn't have a qualified team o developers, fire the young infants that can't solve some simple codes!

I experienced this too. I installed Opera in my windows laptop and android phone and I couldn't log in from my phone. I wanted to try out Opera. I just uninstalled it and went back to my previous browser.
