Opera release 36 not enough space

I have installed the latest update and it will not run because it says there is not enough space. I have 1.7gb free, how much room can it take. The previous release worked fine. I am using Android 4.1.2 on an asus fonepad. I have cleared caches and deleted some unwanted apps but it still refuses to run.
Any ideas why?

After this update (36.0.2126), I cannot run Opera... the error message is "Opera need more space to run,Please try to clear app data or try to uninstall some application".
But there is 3GB free on internal storage on my Motorola Razr i.
App is reinstalled, data & cache deleted... does not help

Same problem here with an Asus fonepad type K0004. Android version 4.1.2. Opera version 36.2.2126.102826
Now back to the standard Android browser after the latest update didn't solve problem.
