Opera 28 Update ruined 10 years worth of saved bookmarks!!!!!

I have Opera 12.17 installed with my bookmarks saved on my storage drive (d).
On 4/24/15 Opera notified me of an update I installed. After updating, it appears maybe 3% of my bookmarks transferred over. The rest were gone, nowhere to be found. I checked the adr file and it was much smaller in size. I found no feasible way of restoring an older version. Since being on my backup drive, I never backed up this file (obviously my mistake).

Is there any way to restore? I tried right clicking and restoring previous versions which there was none of. No tmp files I could see in the App Data folder?

I saved all these bookmarks as reference materials for programming for my job, which was a huge resource for complicated things that took me forever to find the right page to save.
