Is there any word on when encrypted media extensions will be enabled in Opera for Linux? Hoping to ditch Google Chrome and watch Netflix in Opera 🙂

None so far as I know. Isn't that proprietary and needing a license? You might be able to do the same thing that we do to get H.264 working - copy and rename a file. I've absolutely no idea what file that might be but it's probably in/around the same area.

I could easily be mistaken so don't take anything I said with anything more than a grain of salt.

kgiii, thanks for the reply. I think you're right, EME is proprietary. Nevertheless, it was apparently implemented since Opera 30 for Mac and Windows. I recently checked opera-developer_34 and I still get in opera://flags:

          Encrypted Media Extensions (EME)
          Mac, Windows
Sorry, this experiment is not available on your platform.
Enables support for Encrypted Media Extensions (EME). The Clear Key and Widevine key systems are included.
