<![CDATA[Encrypted media extensions]]>Is there any word on when encrypted media extensions will be enabled in Opera for Linux? Hoping to ditch Google Chrome and watch Netflix in Opera 🙂

I think you're right, EME is proprietary. Nevertheless, it was apparently implemented since Opera 30 for Mac and Windows. I recently checked opera-developer_34 and I still get in opera://flags:

Sorry, this experiment is not available on your platform.
Enables support for Encrypted Media Extensions (EME). The Clear Key and Widevine key systems are included.

Isn't that proprietary and needing a license? You might be able to do the same thing that we do to get H.264 working - copy and rename a file. I've absolutely no idea what file that might be but it's probably in/around the same area.

I could easily be mistaken so don't take anything I said with anything more than a grain of salt.
