Hello, the latest Opera stable update introduced a bug that makes Opera display an error about .pak file being broken when I edit the 'default_partners_content.json' file. Also, editing the file in the installation directory does not really do anything, I have to edit the one in my profile directory. Anyway, when I do that in order to get rid of the default search engines and introduce my own over the predefined keywords, Opera refuses to start. Will this be fixed in the next version? Thank you.

      Tomas

Hi, this is for security reasons. Imagine that a lot of malware would also try to do the same; that's why the file must be now protected against unauthorised modifications.

I see. And is there some other way to redefine the default search engines? I was kind of used to having YouTube search on "y" instead of Yahoo, and it is inconvenient to have to define a new shortcut. Thanks.

Unfortunately not. I've myself had to redefine. But then again, took me just a few uses to remember the redefinition.

Well that's a pity. All right, thanks for your help!

Yeah, its a serious pain. I put all my custom search engines that use would normally used unreassignable shortcut keys on doubled keys. So Youtube is 'yy' instead of just 'y'. Being able to edit those shortcuts really needs to get implemented though.

Yeah I was in the process of dumping Chrome in favour of Opera, but this is a major deal breaker.

Yeah, if they don't give the user some way of changing this, I'm going to dump Opera.
