How do I do this? I
ve searched everywere and can
t find a way to do it. Plz help
The help feature says this: "From the menu, go to Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Security." but this place doesn`t exist.Thanx in advance!

What Opera version are you currently using? The "help" instructions you quoted refer to the old Presto versions (12.14 and below), and certainly not to Opera 27.

By design, Opera is made to auto-update without user browser access to halt that functionality. You can stop it externally from within Windows, as the referenced comment indicates, or you could even manually rename Opera's updater file to block its actions. However, realize that blocking auto-updates implies you have to ride close herd on security and bug fixes continually being made to both the chromium rendering engine and to the Opera GUI surrounding it... which are two independent sources of change. If you're not willing to pay that close of attention and manually update A/R, then you will find yourself running some risks... -

I asked for a function to more closely control update behaviour just 3 days ago (Feb 24). My post was moved to the suggestion box. (Well, technically that's right, because I suggested a new function.
Maybe everyone reading here who's also interested in controlling Opera's update behaviour could add to my thread, so it doesn't appear as if it's just me.
