How can I install multiple separate versions of Opera? such as Opera Stable and Opera 25 with separate profiles.

I'm having limited success. If I install Opera 29 and select a different path I now have the option to install it as a standalone version, but it then immediately automatically updates to the latest version and I'm not sure what the best way is to stop that. I have a very fast internet connection (100MB/sec).

Download the installer, disconnect from the Internet, install it, block the updater, get back on the Internet. That work?

Yes, that works just fine. In retrospect my question was not well thought out. A dumb question
