Where have the tool bars gone?

This version 26 is a bit retrograde to say the least. It has copied over my bookmarks but they no longer appear correctly in the toolbar. There are no icons and only one row of them, I had them set in version 12 with icons and minimal description so I had 32ish to a row. Or 100 of my most vistied sites easily available at the top of the screen. Anyway I can get them back?
