Want to change the menu bar color

I'm talking about this menu bar: http://i.imgur.com/5Vk7nKi.png
I want the background to be black (over all of it)
And of course to be able to still see the buttons and text, have them white or gray on black

Themes in this version are just a background which I find shouldn't be called themes in the first place since they change nothing of significance
Either way I've seen no extension capable to do what I am asking so I'm asking here, if anyone knows a way or perhaps you guys can add this in the near future?
A simple "night mode" would suffice and be greatly appreciated.

I very much doubt you'll see custom 'skins' anytime soon.
