Opera 28 simply won't save passwords

Hi,
Can anyone help? I've been through a succession of browsers, all of which have their shortcomings. Opera seems to be the best of the bunch with lots of good things about it.But it just won't save passwords. Despite everything I try, it just won't do it. It will remember the forms for usernames, but not the associated passwords. I have searched forums in frustration in the last 4 days and no one seems to have this issue.
Does anyone have any advice if they've gone through it?
Using Windows 8 - and have checked all the security permissions for the folders. Have checked the browser settings.
Thanks in advance,
Dave. -

Opera won't keep me logged into my pages, or save any of my passwords. I save them repeatedly, but the "manage saved passwords" area remains empty. I uninstalled Opera 28 and tried Opera 11 again, and it remembered everything! Reinstalled Opera 28, and it is still useless. Very frustrating! I can't find help for it anywhere.

Sounds like Opera doesn't have write privileges to where you've installed it. Try installing it in your C:\ drive in its own folder.

Well, if you are unwilling to go through the measure to troubleshoot the problem then we can't help you track it down. Why would you ask us for help when you ignore the things we tell you to do to test the cause of the problem? Its like telling a mechanic you want him to fix your car but he can't have the car to work on it.
