Hello,
how many processes are running with Opera 27 ?
In february I changed from Opera 12.17 to Version 27. The new program works rather slowly, and just now I started the Windows taskmanager. I see 24 processes with the name opera-exe *32 - this cannot be normal. One of thiese processes belongs to Opera 12.17, all the others to Opera 27.
Does someone here know what happens - and what to do against this behaviour?
Additionally I miss the menue I know from all older Opera versions, available by clicking at the "O" in the upper left window corner.

The new version of Opera has every tab, extension and add-on split up into its own process. This way, if anything crashes, it is much less likely to take the entire browser with it. It will only crash that one process and everything else can continue as normal. It also allows each process to use its own thread of the CPU and its own chunk of RAM. This improves performance on multi-core systems and allows Opera to use more than than 3.5 gigs of RAM (which is about the limit for 32-bit programs) without being a 64-bit application. It does increase the total system power required to run Opera though, compared to version 12.
Yup, the menu is gone.
