YouTube search field

I searched the forum and didn't see anything on this – anyone else unable to enter text into the YouTube search field? I just noticed the issue this week. It appears to be YouTube only and it's not a problem in other browsers. I tried disabling the usual suspect add-ons (Adblock in particular) but it made no difference. I'm stumped.

Can you tell us what version of Opera you are running? Also, try going to the site in a private window and see if that changes anything. Report back with your findings.

Sorry for the delay... Wow. The search field works in a private window. I wouldn't have guessed that it would. No idea what it means, but that's real good to know. Looks like I'm using version 27.0. Thanks for the help.

We know what it means. You either have an extension that is blocking that function or you have a cookie or other stored piece of data that is causing it. With Opera open hit Ctrl+Shift+Del and delete your cache and "cookies and other site data" and restart the browser. You can probably leave the other stuff like history but if you don't care go ahead and delete that too. If that fixes it great. If it doesn't fix it you can try disabling all of your extensions and checking if it works. IF it does, re-enable them one at a time checking if it works after each. When it breaks you'll have found the cause of the problem.

Cache and cookies flush didn't fix it. I'll start disabling extensions. Thanks again for the help.

Well, that was easy. Turns out it was an extension called "You Watch" which marks YT videos as watched once you've viewed them. Handy but not as handy as the search function. Cool. Hey, thanks a lot. Worked like a charm.

Weirdly, it appears YouTubes is back to marking vids as watched again. No idea when they brought it back.
