Speed Dial graphics customisation - Opera vsn 27

Speed Dial is great, except for the default white text on a default light blue background.
Yet try as I might, I cannot find any way to change out of these defaults.
Am I missing something, or is Opera the one missing something?

Right click the background of the speed dial and hit 'Change theme'. You can either try one of the built in themes or just the menu on the left to get more. At the moment all it really changes is the background.
