ADblock and local IPs

For some reason Adblock extensions don't play nice with my router config (192.168.1.1 is what I type in, I'm probably not explaining it the best). They sometimes fail to access it or cause it to fail to load. I understand that Opera has now outsourced ADblock but FFS how do I fix this? I don't want to not use ADblock and I don't want to have to keep managing extensions either. Whitelisting the IP also does not seem to help but disabling it does.

Which ad blocking extension are you using? I use Adblock Plus for Opera and it doesn't block ip address when I enter them directly.
