Goodbye, from version 2.12 to today

This post is more for me, than for you.
The death of Opera and its reincarnation as a reskinned Chrome browser makes me sad. It feels like the end of the "real internet" for me. Having used every version since 2.12, I've watched the web decline into lowest common denominator ("easy to use!") and increasingly making it impossible to actually use how you want to use it.
So, farewell Opera, I will have fond memories of when the internet did what I told it to.
(for those who find this post wondering what I am using instead: Firefox + a bunch of add-ons.)
