Hi all,
We will welcome tens of millions of new users to the family, as Opera Mini replaces the Xpress Browser, becoming the default browser on internet-capable mobile phones from Nokia running the Series 30+ (S30+), Series 40 (S40) and Asha operating systems.
Users will receive notifications on their phones with information on how to upgrade from the previously built-in Xpress Browser to Opera Mini. The Xpress Browser is scheduled to be discontinued by December 2015.
Users of Nokia S40 should configure the correct internet settings in their devices before starting to use Opera Mini. Here’s a step-by-step guide.
Users of Nokia S40 will get Opera Mini version 4.5, while users of Nokia Asha 501, 501s, 503 and 503s will get Opera Mini version 8. Nokia S30+ already comes with Opera Mini.
With Opera's data-compression technology, millions of Nokia users can now save up to 90% on data usage while they browse on Opera Mini.
If users have questions about Opera Mini, they can check out the FAQ, connect with us on Facebook or Twitter or email us at social-networks@opera.com.
For device-specific questions, users should refer to Microsoft’s support page.
Happy browsing!

Thanks, Angelath22.
It's nice to see something official from Opera about using Opera Mini on Nokia phones. I have been using Opera Mini 8 (not 4.5) on my Nokia Asha 311 (s40) phone for some time and am aware of many of its benefits, as well as many of its shortcomings.
I would appreciate your comments on each of the following.
- Quite a few websites appear blank in Opera Mini. This was raised in the forums, for example in http://forums.opera.com/topic/8033/can-t-read-news-from-operas-home-oage.
Importantly, one of the other websites that is not being displayed in Opera Mini on my phone is Microsoft Mobile, including the page linked in your email above, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/mobile/support/.
- Opera Mini needs to be closed completely if the user needs to make a phone call, send an SMS, move the phone to silent mode, or start/stop music on the phone. Unlike Nokia Xpress, it is not possible to swipe from the top of the screen to get a drop-down menu allowing limited functions like these without needing to close the browser.
This really reduces the usability of the smartphone. (I have raised this before in the forums (http://forums.opera.com/topic/7680/any-plans-for-new-version-of-opera-mini-for-java-j2me) but no response was provided by Opera.)
-
Opera Mini seems to be designed for phones with keypads rather than touchscreens. For example, it requires quite a few steps using menus to move the display between portrait and landscape as the keypad shortcut is not available for touchscreen phones.
-
Opera Mini cannot display PDF attachments; more and more websites are including important information using PDFs. Surely this is something that the Opera Servers could translate in the same way as it does for normal HTML webpages.
-
Some users (including me) have posted some suggestions onto the forum for future functionality (see https://forums.opera.com/post/63213). Can you please comment on which, if any, of these are being considered by the developers, and whether any new versions of Opera Mini (J2ME) are planned.
Thanks again. I look forward to your response on these issues.

Hi Da-aus,
Thank you for your feedback. Rest assured that I will pass your comments and suggestions on features to the team.
We appreciate your reports and look forward to making browsing on Opera Mini a more optimised for Nokia users. On 1), we are a bug wizard tool that can be accessed from the app or directly on https://bugs.opera.com/wizardmini/
All reports we received through this channel will be used to reproduce and regenerate buggy scenarios, and then our devs will be able to make fixes for the once we can successfully generate. On 5) I personally do not have information regarding J2ME. Stay tuned with us on social media for announcements.
Thank you

Hopefully this issue would be resolved on server side.

thanks if u gave me solution thanks alot
Now I'm puzzled. I only said that private mode is the workaround for sync issue, if that was the solution then it is what it is.
