What happend to opera start page

there were only Icons which I considered very nice, Now start page became ugly, how can I change to old?

I actually really liked the design, even though it did lack control (having an ugly ass URL displayed was a bit silly, for example). Now it's back to ye olde clusterfuck of a mess once more
I guess this should be a good motivation to look at the extensions' documentation.

I really liked the modern look of the favicon-startpage. Back to chaos again i guess.

Over at Opera Blogs I saw a lot of comments bitching and ranting about the icon only start page (in a 'how dare you ruin my life Opera' sort of way). They mostly wanted the old page previews back. I guess this may have caused Opera to revert back to the old style. It's a case of you can't please everybody, I suppose. It would be nice if there was a choice of page preview or logo though.
