For the last 24 hours, whenever I look at my Hotmail account and then Sign Out, I get a message telling me that msn.com has a Fraud Warning against it. Given that Microsoft are one of the biggest companies in the world, I wonder what's going on.

Can you take a screenshot of the message and post it here? Failing that can you post the exact contents of the message?

It's stopped happening now. But I had it both on my home and works PCs, so I'm surprised that no one else complained. If it comes back, I'll let you know.

It may be caused by an ad running on the site which contains malware. Websites often allow outside, contracted content suppliers to rent space for their ads. If the ad maker is unscrupulous, he can rotate a series of ads through his rented space that include malware redirects, etc. An example of something that was found in May of 2014 (and which afflicted Google, MSN, etc) can be seen at:

                http://www.malware-traffic-analysis.net/2014/05/07/index2.html

In that example, the malware redirect code was only included every so often in the source code, making it tougher to track down. Once again, it all stands as an argument to be cautious about running scripting wide-open when browsing and not to click on just anything that pops up when browsing (in the example, clicking on anything in the pop-up triggered the exploit).

I agree, it sounds like an ad is the source of the warning. Its not uncommon.
