I like the appearance and settings of v12.02 and wish to keep these when changing to a newer version. The speed-dial-tile thing is a PITA and I've disabled it in my old version. I also have all my bookmarks in a list on the left side which the later versions don't allow.
Also does anyone know how to get a new tab to open straight to Google? [I've disable Speed dial]
      I'm using Windows 7/64 on a desktop.

      Any suggestions? Thanks.

You haven't told us which newer version of Opera you are trying to make these changes to. That matters.

Sorry, my mistake. I've tried v19 to v23 without success.

You can't use (most of) your Presto settings on the new browser.
Though you can use both browsers on the same system/user - like your current 12 and a Blink (to transfer your bookmarks from 12 to 25 you'll need to set your 12 as the default browser before installing a 25 - unless you'll wait till 26 stable's released).

Thanks for the reply, I was sort of expecting that. I'll give 26 a go when it comes out.

I expect many users are dismayed by the inability to keep the look of the earlier browser versions.

                You suppose?
They are not technically earlier browser versions - they are versions of an (the) earlier browser*:sherlock:*
