Is there any way to bring it back,

Are you using Opera Mail 1.0 or Opera Mail built into the Opera suite? If the latter, what version of Opera are you using?

Some older versions of Opera had a limit of 5,000 indexes in index.ini (in the mail folder).

I'd check index.ini to see if there's any corruption. Maybe look to see if the indexes for your feed folders (look at the name= lines) are still there. Look to see that their parent IDs point to the feeds access point/category. Look to see if there's an index for each of your feed subscriptions. Do you have a recent backup of it?

You can check the database also. The check can fix some small things if the database is corrupted. But, make sure you copy the mail folder to a safe place while Opera is closed just in case it makes things worse (you never know what can happen if the file is corrupted).

        opera has 10,027,327 feeds

Do you mean feed messages or feeds (as in subscriptions)? I assume you mean the former as the latter would be crazy.

If you goto "menu -> feeds -> manage feeds", can you unsubscribe from so non-important feeds and delete the subscriptions just to see if the rest come back (after a restart)?

You can try clicking the wrench icon on the mail panel toolbar and reset the mail panel to defaults.

Yes it has 10.027,327 messages yes, much i know, and i had a ichy feeling the program would stop once reached the `10 000 000 but i failed to make a backup nonetheless as the last backup is from 6 months ago..

Yes it has 10.027,327 messages yes

Thanks for the clarifications. The number of messages could be a problem, but Opera handles millions of messages well, so I'm not sure if that's causing the problem.

Now, the number of feed subscriptions you have might cause a problem depending on the highest index number in index.ini and what version of Opera Mail you're using.

i failed to make a backup nonetheless as the last backup is from 6 months ago..

Do you know if you have the same number of feed subscriptions as you did back then? Either way though, you could temporarily replace index.ini with the old back up just to see if some feeds now show. If they do, it's likely that your index.ini (the original one that you've been using) is messed up or too large.

Is accounts.ini missing the feeds account? (there should only be 1 feeds account in there,)

One way to fix accounts.ini (besides restoring from a backup) is to recreate all the account sections in the exact same order as they were before.

For example, launch the Opera installer, click "options", set "install path" to a folder on your desktop, set "install for" to "Standalone Installation (USB)" and install. Set up your mail accounts in the exact some order as you did before. And, subscribe to a single feed to create the feeds account in accounts.ini. But, don't subscribe to the feed until the right time. For example, if the feeds account is supposed to be account 3, you'd subscribe to the feed after setting up the first 2 mail accounts.

Then, close that Opera. You can then use its account.ini to replace yours.

The catch here is that you have to remember the exact order you did things before.

For index.ini, what do you see wrong with it specifically?
