I've searched for this item using the Search feature but failed to find it. If it "is" a duplicate, mod(s) feel free to close this thread. I've taken the liberty of transferring mb's request over from the Windows forum to the Suggestion Box since I agree that his suggestion is a valid one and believe it would add to the browser's convenience features.
This is what mb suggested:
It would be great to be able to show/hide the Bookmarks Bar in Opera 21, similar to the CTRL+SHIFT+B toggle shortcut in the Chrome browser.
The Opera Bookmars Bar can be switched on and off in 'Settings' by selecting the 'Show Bookmarks Bar' option under 'User Interface'. This needs a press of Alt+P and then scrolling down the Settings/Browser menu to tick/un-tick the box.
A single-action toggle, such as the Chrome browser's Ctrl+Shift+B gives instant control over the bookmarks bar - allowing instant extra space for webpage display (and also speedily hides the bookmarks bar from prying eyes looking over your shoulder).
