NPAPI plugin support

I've downloaded the Opera Developer version (currently at version 25) for Linux. I'd like to say, thank you for finally developing a version of new Opera for Linux, after a long while of suspicion (even from me) that Linux development was being wound down. I really do appreciate it.
I do know that this is the developer version and I also know that NPAPI plugins have been deprecated in Chromium and Chrome, however the Windows version of Opera current does support NPAPI plugins.
Will NPAPI support be added to the Linux version of new Opera should the new Opera become stable?
Is NPAPI support going to be removed from Opera Next and Stable or are the Opera team coding NPAPI support back in? (and if that is the case, will Opera release their code or their NPAPI supporting version of Blink to the public?)

NPAPI plugins are part of Mac and Windows version independent of channels.
Opera for Linux will - as Chromium doesn't offer support anymore - not have NPAPI support at all. The gain would not be worth the effort. -

Dear Christoph,
Thanks for posting that.
Answered the question for a lot of us.
Best,

In the long run NPAPI support will be pulled from Chromium. Some time after that we will likely follow suit in all platforms. So while NPAPI support exists for now on Windows and Mac don't expect it to remain in the long term.
