Have set up the yahoo address and there are some messages in the 'inbox' but none of the other folders have come across. It's worked in my Gmail accounts.
Thanks

A POP server just shows messages from the Inbox to the client. There's no concept of folders. Once downloaded though, you can sort them into folders yourself or via rules, if your client supports folders. Opera doesn't use folders and instead uses labels. See this page for an explanation.
In the mail panel though, there's a you@example.com access point that has "Inbox" and "Sent" views for each account POP account.
If you connect to your email server via IMAP (if the server supports it), then you'll see all your folders. The you@example.com access point in the mail panel will show each folder. When you do in those folders will then happen on the server and vice versa. In other words, using those folder views will be like you're using a webmail interface almost.
