I want to get away from using Opera's client and switch to Outlook but I can't find any export function. I have mail archived from 2004 that I couldn't stand to lose. Is there any option?

        See How to save/export messages.

But, messages are already stored in the same format they're saved/exported in. See the mail/store/accountN folder (where N is the number for the account as seen in accounts.ini). Also see the mail/store/drafts folder for drafts for all accounts.

To make sure the store is complete, make sure low-bandwidth mode is off. For IMAP, also make sure "do not download attachments" is off and make sure "make all messages available offline" is set.

Opera supports the mbox format (files have an mbs extension) for storing messages. You'll need to find a converter that converts them to something Outlook can import. For mbox files that contain a single message, you can just remove the "From " line in the first line of the file and rename the file to have an eml extension to make it an eml file that you can open in Outlook maybe.

However, if your email server supports IMAP too, you can set up IMAP to connect to your account too. Then, drag your pop messages to the IMAP Inbox folder view to upload them to the server. Then, when you set up the POP account in Outlook, it'll just fetch all the messages. No need to export and import.

If you're only using IMAP, you don't need to do anything at all except set up your IMAP account in outlook.

To convert your Opera address book, export it via "Menu -> settings -> import and export", convert it and import it into Outlook.
