How did a weird opera file wipe my whole account when deleted

I saw a user on my laptop that I never had on my laptop only my desktop. It had an opera browser file on and it that was about it. Well I deleted it and all of a sudden it was deleteing 100000 files and I slowly watch my system data drop from 330.38 gb down to 164.43 which is still strangely large. But when I switch to my account I actually use on the laptop not the one the is admin. The whole account was reset and I lost everything how can that one weird user profile and weird opera file wipe my whole account? I lost everything! I will never download opera again
