Disabling Updates Question

I have assumedly disabled updates by changing the opera_autoupdate.exe to opera_autoupdateoff.exe in the autoupdate folder in the Opera launch folder, and also added "opera.exe" --disable-update to the launch of Opera. And in "About Opera" it also shows this:: "Update checker is disabled"
Yet this morning I find that Opera has updated in spite of the measures.
So...how do I make sure that Opera does not update?? Is there a sure nff way to do it?

You need to disable the autoupdate tasks in the Task Scheduler too if present.
Then, for extra good measure, you need to block Opera's autoupdate servers.
Also, some programs like Kaspersky can update Opera for you automatically. If you have a program like that, make sure its program updating is disabled.
If you get Opera via some package manager like Chocolatey etc., you'll want to make sure it doesn't update Opera on you.
