I like to watch YouTube videos while I browse the web on my laptop. However, I've noticed lately that not only has Opera GX's adblock feature not been too effective on any YouTube commercials that pop up before my video starts, but none of them have the option for me to skip anymore. This is especially bad when it comes to longer commercials, or ones that are annoying or despicable (my queerodivergent ass knows better than to believe the Orange Pig's BBB is gonna do any good for this hellscape of a country I live in). Is something wrong with my browser, or is YouTube just catching up in the ads vs. blockers arms race?

@MeronJM I have stopped using Youtube on browsers unless using skipcut because of the hard drugs and other inappropriate content they try to push.

I've been using smarttube on my nvidia shield / android tv / firesticks to bypass all illicit ads.
