Opera freezes on first launch

For the past week now whenever I first boot up my pc and launch opera it freezes my screen for a few seconds then unfreezes sometimes it removes the icons on my taskbar even though they are still functional and the only way to get the taskbar items back is to restart my machine and then opera doesn't freeze anymore. other times it just does the freezing. its only opera gx thats done this i tried firefox and opening other applications to see if its a pc thing but everything works fine I uninstalled gx and reinstalled it yesterday to see if that would fix it but it didn't hence why im writing this.
forgot to add this but also sometimes it messes with my speakers and sets them wrong
