@Michlee Sometimes history can cause lags. You can goto the URL
opera://settings/clearBrowserData
, switch to advanced and clear "Browsing history" and "Download history" for all time. Then, you can goto the URLopera://about
, take note of the "profile" path, close Opera and delete the "History" file in the profile folder.Having thousands and thousands of bookmarks can cause lags in the UI too. You can copy the "Bookmarks" and "BookmarksExtras" files from your Opera profile to the profile for an Opera standalone installation (replace the current ones there) to see if that makes the standalone Opera lag. If so, you know it's your bookmarks.
Sometimes Sync can cause lags. You can run with Sync disabled for a bit to see if that makes a difference.

@burnout426 I just could never understand, could it really just stop working randomly cuz of my bookmarks (I have a ton) because it was literally perfect before.
Also ya I was thinkin of that history file stuff but I was just concerned with it erasing some of my current tabs, it wont do that right?
I will try the sync thing too cuz I also heard that one.

It shouldn't. Opened tabs are stored separately in the "Sessions" folder in the profile folder. But, you can back up the folder first if you want. You can also right-click on a tab, goto "Save" and choose "all tabs to a speed dial folder" (and repeat for each extra workspace and window if you have any) to back up your open tabs. To restore if ever needed, right-click a speed dial folder and choose "open all".

@burnout426 Ok that sounds good I will back them up first before deleting the file. I also tried the sync off and it did nothing as well as the deleting the history and browsing data in the browser.

@burnout426 Ok so I tested the bookmarks on the standalone and it doesnt lag it at all.
I also did the history file deletion and it sadly did nothing

You can choose "reset" at the URL
opera://flags
and restart Opera to see if it helps.You can goto the URL
opera://settings/clearBrowserData
and clear "cached images and files" for all time. Then, you can goto the URLopera://about
, take note of the "cache" path, close Opera and delete the "cache" and "system cache" folders in the cache path.One level up from the profile folder (the folder the "Default" folder is in), you can delete every folder there that has "cache" somewhere in its name.

@burnout426 Ok I did all that and still nothing
do you think the best route is just starting new with an actual fresh install because I did save all my open tabs with the speed dial thing and exported them to an html file (which I tested on the standalone btw and it works fine although I havent opened all them in the workspaces and I know that contributes to pc load aka the "lag" it might be causing)
Anyway the problem with starting new is I dont know how I'd go about that considering when I did both a reinstall and a whole uninstall then reinstall they both didnt work and still lagged afterwards.
My thoughts are it has to do with my profile or something in my files being corrupted and thats causing an issue. I guess im down to fresh restart even tho I would take a long time to get everything back in order I just dont know how

@Michlee You just rename both the the roaming and local "Opera Stable" folders to "Opera Stable old" to start fresh.

and thats like a fresh fresh start like tabs and passwords and stuff? Just wondering cuz I think thats all that is important and I backed those up.

@Michlee Yes, it's like a completely fresh start. Everything will be gone and you will have to import your passwords and bookmarks (with opened tabs saved as bookmarks).

@burnout426 Ya ok I did that and it seems to be fine with all the same extensions and such, that'll have to do I guess
