I just installed the latest Opera for Linux. It appears washed out and the font is so faded that I am struggling to read anything. How to I make things darker and less of a headache. I would have thought that they would get opinions on changes of this magnitude. I have used Opera for years but I cannot use this weird presentation.

@madmick399 If Opera on Linux looks washed out or the fonts are too faded after installation, here are some steps you can take to adjust the appearance:

        Switch to Dark Mode:

        Open Opera.
Go to Menu (top-left corner) > Settings > Appearance.
Look for Theme and select Dark mode to give the browser a darker appearance.
        Increase Font Size and Contrast:

In Settings, scroll down to the Webpages section.
Adjust the Page Zoom to increase the overall size of text and elements.
You can also try selecting a different Font to improve readability by going to Settings > Advanced > Fonts and adjusting font types and sizes.
        Use a High-Contrast Theme:

Visit the Opera Add-ons page and search for high-contrast or dark themes that can enhance visibility and reduce the washed-out look.
Install a theme that suits your preference for a bolder display.
        Disable Hardware Acceleration:

Sometimes hardware acceleration can cause display issues on certain systems.
Go to Settings > Advanced > System and turn off Use hardware acceleration when available. Restart Opera afterward to see if it improves the appearance.
Check GTK Theme (for Linux systems):

Opera uses your system's GTK theme for its interface, which might not be suitable in terms of contrast and colors.
Try changing your system's GTK theme to one that has darker colors or higher contrast. This can usually be done through your System Settings or Appearance settings, depending on your Linux distribution.
Force Dark Mode on Web Content:

You can enable the experimental "Force Dark Mode" feature in Opera, which applies a dark theme to websites as well.
Go to opera://flags in the address bar, search for Force Dark Mode, and enable it.
These adjustments should help make Opera's appearance less washed out and improve readability for your eyes.
