png images not displayed

In a web page when I click on a link to a png image it wants to save it instead of display it. Other image formats like jpeg are properly displayed, only png are not. How to fix this?

@palavets can you try png wiki, click on that dice png on the right.
I also have Linux and png displays in the browser
