I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I just installed Opera Mobile and was disappointed that text wrap doesn't work. I went into Settings, and I saw that the "Text Wrap" check box option is grayed out so I can't enable it. This is really weird because I have been using Opera Mobile Classic forever on this phone and text wrap works great.

The browser is terminally crippled on a phone if it doesn't wrap text, because unless you have eyes like a microscope, you either have to scroll the screen back and forth with each line of text you read, or you have to squint until you're practically blind to read a typical web page.

Text wrapping works fine on two of my Android devices I've just tried, namely 'LG L7 II P710' and a cheap Samsung S4 clone, both running Jellybean 4.1.2. & 4.2.1 respectively. Oh, and I am able to toggle 'Text Wrap' on and off in the settings too. Not tried my Toshiba tablet yet, which happens to be running ICS 4.0.4

Tested with all versions of Opera, Mobile Classic, Mobile (stable) and Mobile Beta.

Maybe it's site, device or Android version specific ?.

How weird. I'm running Android 4.3. It's rooted, but not sure if that makes any difference. I just downloaded Opera last night, so it's the most recent version. I'm not sure what other information to provide that might be relevant.

The whole "Text Wrap" line in the Settings is completely grayed out.

Are there any Opera customer support representatives on here that can help?

Turn off Off-road mode, text wrap doesn't work in its current version.

Ahhh!, I always have Off-road and Turbo disabled. I have quite a large data plan quota and not much time to really use it all up, so don't really need those modes enabled.

Oh, okay. Thanks. But that seems kind of weird. What the heck is the connection between compressing the data coming in, and word wrap? Is there any plan to fix this in the future?

Thanks for demystifying it for me, though!

As I say in the linked comment, the current stable version uses the Opera Mini servers for compression, the issue is Mini doesn't support "as-you-zoom" text wrap. When the new Off-road compression method which is being utilized in the beta version comes to stable text wrap will work in both modes.

If mini version doesn't support then when will full version be available.
