      Hello,

      I can't launch the web browser on Ubuntu 23.10 because I'm getting an error. :
      opera: error while loading shared libraries: libffmpeg.so: cannot open shared object file: Permission denied

      The issue occurred after updating to Ubuntu 23.10. The browser was installed from a .deb file. I've tried reinstalling, disabling AppArmor, running it as root, but the same error persists. Any ideas for a solution?

        @maf2 try sudo chmod 755 -R {opera installation directory} and/or sudo chown $USER -R {opera installation directory}

          @mardiyah I changed the permissions for the directories.
          sudo chmod 755 -R /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/
          sudo chown $USER -R /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/

          Still I got error:

          opera: error while loading shared libraries: libffmpeg.so: cannot open shared object file: Permission denied

          Any ideas ?

            @maf2 must inspect manually one by one

            is libffmpeg one of dep.?

            $ ldd $(which opera)

            look up its dir.

            $ ls -l

            as latest opera it's in lib_extra/ in the /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/
